Like the popular TV show, The Salvation Army’s MOST Amazing Race gives teams of two an all-access pass as they race around the Twin Cities. Teams follow clues to reach checkpoints, where they complete a task before moving on to the next location. The tasks can be mental, like assembling a gas pipeline, or physical, like performing a choreographed dance. Sometimes tasks are downright thrilling, like jumping off a 10-meter diving platform. Others are just plain fun, like bouncing across a field inside a giant inflatable ball.
The 2017 race will be Saturday, Oct. 7 and will feature challenges across the city of St. Paul, Minnesota. The race will begin and end at the Como Picnic Pavilion, 1199 Midway Parkway. Teams will use Metro Transit buses and trains, or their own feet, to get to each checkpoint.
Again this year:
Who said balls are for hamsters? Why not race across a soccer field in one?
No lines here! Racers get a rollercoaster ride all to themselves at Mall of America.
Caution! Racers at play on this giant slip ‘n slide.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate in all race events. Employees of The Salvation Army are not eligible to compete. A team with the same two members is only eligible to win the race three times.
The MOST Amazing Race is one of the most unique race experiences for all skills and fitness levels. Even more importantly, it is a fundraiser for The Salvation Army’s homelessness and hunger programs, and your participation helps people in need. (Learn more about the impact.) In fact, the more money you raise, the bigger your time advantage on race day.
The cost to register is $25 per person. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. There is a minimum fundraising requirement to be eligible to compete. (Learn more about team fundraising.)
